Real food from the farms and homes of the Barossa
David Henderson of Western Ridge Brewing & Distilling Co.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
We are a brewer owned collective based in Greenock on the Western Ridge of the Barossa Valley.
We are hop growers, brewers and distillers making small batch beer since 2016 with a very high proportion of locally grown barley and hop.
WHAT DO YOU OFFER AT YOUR STALL AT THE MARKET?
We sell a selection of our freshest current beers at our stall. Our range includes one product with all ingredients sourced and the product processed entirely within a 20km circle within the Barossa Valley.
We also offer growler swaps, cartons by pre-order for collection and home brewers can pre-order our hops and locally grown craft malt for collection if they contact us by email.
WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY FOR SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION?
Our key inspiration is our whole ingredients focused approach to brewing. Principle production is in our 200L small batch brewery in a backyard shed.
We discharge very little waste thanks to composting and the interception of solid matter for animal feed. The liquid discharged during processing is transferred to distilling fermenters and passed through our still prior to the remaining nutrient rich liquid being added to our compost.
WHO WILL VISITORS MEET AT YOUR MARKET STALL?
Customers will usually meet myself (David) at our stall but any of the 5 owner/brewers could be there.
We are skilled and experienced brewers and love to give advice and assistance to home brewers and generally talk about beer!
