YOUR LOCAL FARMERS MARKET UPDATE
Real food from the farms and homes of the Barossa
Nicki Robins of The Salad Store
WHAT DO YOU SELL AT THE FARMERS MARKET?
I started my fortnightly stall last year selling a range of healthy grain salads. Most are gluten free and lactose free and I buy all the veggies for the salads from stallholders at the Barossa Farmers Market.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR SALADS?
My range includes a quinoa, beetroot, feta and cumquat salad; a brown rice, shitake mushrooms with miso dressing salad; a freekeh, pomegranate and pistachio salad; a quinoa, roasted baby carrot and leek salad; and a couscous, chickpea, capsicum and zucchini salad.
WHY DID YOU START YOUR MARKET STALL?
I like to make these salads for busy people who don’t have the time to soak the grains and make a delicious dressing!
WHO WILL VISITORS MEET AT THE SALAD STORE STALL?
Customers will meet myself or my daughters Lilli and Maddy at our stall. We attend the market fortnightly.
