Real food from the farms and homes of the Barossa.

MEET

Stuart Jones – Chef Patissier

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FOOD JOURNEY…

I have been a Patissier since completing my apprenticeship in Sydney in 1984. I have worked in a variety of retail and wholesale Patisseries and Bakeries in Sydney and Adelaide for almost 40 years. I am also currently a Home Economics teacher at Nuriootpa High School.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU MAKE?

I make a range of cakes, flans, and sweet and savoury pastries, including croissants and brownies, for sale at the market each week. I use traditional methods from a range of cultural influences including European, North American and Australian. Next month I will also have fruit mince pies available at the 2 markets before Christmas.

WHAT HELPS MAKE YOUR PRODUCTS SPECIAL?

Where possible, I use produce from the farmers market in what I make. My current market suppliers include Trevalie Orchard (Stone Fruit and Apples), The Vegie Basket (Organic Silverbeet and Rainbow Chard) and Riverside Farm (Pastured Eggs).
