Barossa unearthed
Bob Modra
The Sunflower man
Bob Modra is well known around the Barossa for his caring, quiet nature and for being a passionate advocate for mental health – having committed his working life to Child and Adolescent mental health.
The man engages deeply with all those he comes in contact with and has earned a reputation as the “Sunflower Man’ – handing out sunflower seeds for children and families to grow, ‘to brighten up people’s lives and to make others smile’ – the Sunflower Effect!
Bob also wears the hat of ‘Convener’ of the Sunflower competition at the Tanunda Show. He encourages kids to plant and grow his seeds and enter the show to simply have a go at growing these striking plants and share the enjoyment these sunny flowers bring to all.
