Outstanding results reported at the 2025 Barossa Wine Auction
The 2025 Barossa Wine Auction, held on April 4 at Peter Lehmann Wines’ Old Redemption Cellar at Tanunda, has once again demonstrated the global allure and collectability of Barossa wines.
About 150 collectors and enthusiasts gathered to bid on an array of rare and distinguished wines, resulting in an impressive $184,493 (including 18 per cent Buyers’ Premium) worth of sales across the 33 lots on offer.
One of many highlights of the auction was the sale of a 10 bottle collection featuring Henschke Hill of Grace (2005-2010) and Henschke Mount Edelstone (2005-2010), which sold for $30,680 (including 18 per cent Buyers’ Premium).
Other notable sales included:
Penfolds 2016 Bin 111A Clare/Barossa Shiraz 6L Imperial, which achieved an astounding $41,300 (including 18 per cent Buyers’ Premium).
The wine is a blend of Clare and Barossa fruit from vineyards that have previously contributed to Grange.
A 12 bottle vertical of Rockford Basket Press Shiraz (2010-2021) presented in a bespoke wooden display, fetching $21,240 (including 18 per cent Buyers’ Premium).
An Eden Valley Riesling Collection of 48 bottles, achieving $7,198 (including 18 per cent Buyers’ Premium) – an impressive result and a testament to Eden Valley’s reputation as one of Australia’s finest Riesling producers.

A portion of the net proceeds from the auction will be directed to the Barossa Australia Well-being Fund, administered by Foundation Barossa.
