ENTERTAINMENT

Winter is packed with a huge variety of entertainment for the whole family, including:

Friday June 25, 8pm

The Rad Pack

The night will roll back to the fabulous 1960s, when cabaret was cool and lounge crooners were King – a tribute to The Rat Pack.

Thursday July 8, 11am

Best of The Beggars

This Matinee show is simply a banquet of The Beggars best – an old-school folk and country trio from South Australia, all acoustic and full of rich vocal harmony.

Wednesday July 14, 10am

Let's Go To Tokyo:
Olympic Game Show

Join Tony and Cool Bear, from Cool 4 Kids, as they take you on an action-packed musical adventure all the way to Tokyo!

Friday July 23, 8pm

Here Comes the Sun
Beatles Trubute by Rachael Leahcar

The show is back, rescheduled from 2020.

Rachael Leahcar and band pay tribute to The Beatles, performing songs from her album ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and many more, to celebrate more than 50 years of legendary music!

Friday Night Live with
the Gawler Town Band

The Gawler Town Band will finalise our winter program with a big band musical celebration of Film and TV classics!

EXHIBITIONS

Discover a diversity of Art Exhibitions in our stunning community exhibition spaces during winter.

All-In For Art

Inclusive Competition, Exhibition and Experience, presented by Feros Care. 

Free Expo 18 and 19 June, with the Art Exhibition continuing until 30 July.

2021 SALA Festival

The 2021 SALA Festival will showcase two exhibitions, including: 

Pushing Up Daisies – Mixed Media Exhibition, presented by the Eco Coffin Project (26 July – 27 August).

SA Inspired– Photography Exhibition, presented by SA Inspired (2 August – 31 August).

Golden Land

Relive you memories of kitchens past with the new exhibition ‘Golden Land’, on now at the Gawler Heritage Gallery.

With a timeline of kitchen design from the 1880’s through to the 1980’s take a walk down Memory Lane. Revisit the formica of the 1950’s or the wood and burnt orange décor of the 1980’s. See the appliances, look at the recipes and understand more about the lifestyle Australian families were living.

Gain an appreciation of the history of commercial food production in Gawler, the mills, bakeries and breweries and the agricultural advancements that originated from the town. See examples of the foods the Kaurna people systematically cultivated to maintain their sustainable lifestyle.

LIBRARY ACTIVITIES

Make sure you visit the Gawler Public Library over winter for lots of entertaining, educational and fun things to do!

June

During June we will host Library Lego (Thursday 17), Author Talk: Sam Charlton – Journey of Resilience (Thursday 24) and various Be Connected Webinars. 

July

During July we will host a ‘Book Vs Movie’ event (Tuesday 6) and various Be Connected Webinars.

Regular Programs

Regular programs such as Monday Showcase (some Mondays 10.00am), Tiny Tales (Tuesdays 9.30am), Justice of The Peace (Thursdays and Saturdays 10.30am-12.30pm), Mindful Journaling (Thursdays, 5.00pm, monthly) are available at either our Civic Centre or Evanston Gardens Library branch – some bookings required.

Kids Create is also coming back afterschool, in person – get crafty, get building and get making – first Tuesday of each month!

GAWLER YOUTH SPACE

The Gawler Youth Space is a fun, inclusive and purpose built space providing a safe and supportive environment located in the Gawler Civic Centre.  Young people can come together to explore interests, participate in fun programs both during the school term and in the school holidays, as well as learn new skills and gain qualifications!

In the July School Holidays a varied program is on offer, including a focus on skill development and training opportunities for Youth. These include workshops and training sessions such as, Prepare to Drive, Barista and Employability skills. Bookings can be made through the Town of Gawler website, using Eventbrite.

The Youth Space is all about ‘Creating Opportunities for Young People’; aiming to promote information of interest to young people about services, facilities and opportunities within the local area. Keep up to date with what’s happening at Gawler Youth by following us on social media.
