This Saturday will be the first market day for Barossa Community Enterprises, who will be selling a range of handmade timber products that complement the food and plants sold at the market. The products include vegetable storage boxes, planter boxes, bird boxes and bat boxes.
All the products are made by local community members with disabilities at Barossa Enterprises. The organisation was created 40 years ago from the shared vision of several local families and has grown to become the largest employer of people with disability in regional SA.
Every step in making the products is being performed by our participants under guidance helping them experience hands-on learning and gaining the satisfaction of creating products for sale. Some of the participants will also be coming along to help sell the products at the market.
