A first conversation about penguins and a mutual obsession for cricket and playing sport sparked an everlasting relationship for Ashleigh Seedsman and Kurtis Lamond, culminating in their romantic wedding in spring.

With a morning drizzle at the historic Anlaby Station cooling the warm weather and revitalising the greenery, the temperature for the ceremony was ideal and rain-free.

Describing the wedding aesthetic as, “simple, fun, romantic, black and white,” the bride looked beautiful and sophisticated in an Allure Romance A-line gown in ivory from Adelaide Bridal Emporium which had a lace bodice and scooped back, while the groom wore a classically stylish black suit and tie from Peter Shearer Menswear.

The bride’s attendants, fellow Tanunda netball players, Melissa Bignell and Belinda Petersen, looked sophisticated in black, while the suited groomsmen, Adam Plumbe and Ryan Black travelled from NSW for the event.

Kurtis’ parents, Kathie and Nigel Lamond also travelled from Coffs Harbour NSW; while Ashleigh’s mother, Sharon Seedsman lives at Golden Grove and her father Trevor Seedsman lives at Greenwith.

Having chosen Anlaby for both the ceremony and the reception, the couple made full use of the picture-perfect, historic setting, with photos and drinks on the front lawn and terrace after the ceremony, followed by a dinner with shared platters in the Clydesdale Pavilion, surrounded by sparkling curtain fairy lights which created a warm glow.

“We had been to Anlaby for an open garden but never thought of it as a wedding venue,” Ashleigh said.

“We did a tour when we found out they held weddings, empty gardens, quiet atmosphere. When we left, we didn’t even make it to the end of the driveway of the property before deciding this was the place for us.”

Both describe the ceremony as their favourite moment on the day; Kurtis saying it, “was intense but amazing,” and Ashleigh saying it was “exciting and nerve wracking”.

The couple also enjoyed being in the moment at the venue, having the time to slow down and enjoy a single location with their 70 plus guests along with chatting on the lawns and terrace after exchanging vows.

A special moment for the couple, who in true Barossa style curated the bottles of red wine, so that no two were the same, was decanting a six-litre bottle of Langmeil, 2012 ‘Orphan Bank’, Shiraz, which they then shared with their guests.

Guests were also invited to add their signatures to the bottle of wine, which has been kept as a memento of the day.

Ashleigh and Kurtis enjoyed a short four-night honeymoon beachside at Aldinga, before returning to Tanunda, with plans to travel overseas for a longer journey in the next year
or so.
