Barossa Village is helping to make this stage of people’s lives much easier, with the opening of their Information Centre in Nuriootpa.
Co-located with the popular Village Op Shop in the Arthur and Gladys Reusch Community Centre, Barossa Village is developing a hub for people to source information about retirement living, assisted care in your home and residential care.
“We have friendly, specialist staff who are trained to help you with your enquiry,” says Sales and Marketing Manager, Daniela Hongell who works from the centre on rotation with CEO, Simon Newbold, People and Culture Manager, David Rundle, Integrated Care Development Coordinator, Tom Herring, Community Development Officer, Lisa Ognjanovic and Support Officer, Carol Chipman.
“It’s great to have a mix of people with different skillsets and experience at the centre to help with enquiries related to their field, along with general information about aged care.”
“Simon has knowledge across the organisation, while Dave can talk about careers and job opportunities at Barossa Village; Tom’s an expert in My Aged Care and Aged Care Directives, Lisa manages enquiries for volunteering and Carol, who provides support to our corporate team, is our all-rounder.”
“Any of these staff can point you in the right direction with your enquiry and we have many resource materials on hand.”
“The Information Centre operates as a walk in space and no appointment is necessary; given its ideal location on Murray St next to the Vine Inn, it’s perfect for people to come in off the street for a chat.”
“If you’re needing a one-on-one discussion, we have meeting spaces for privacy.”
The Information Centre opened earlier this year following a renovation to transform a previously underutilised office area located at the front of the building it into a bright, welcoming space for the community.
“The building is a hive of activity throughout week with many community users booking the space for training, workshops, meetings, activities, yoga and dance practice, so it’s real community hub.”
“We hold the Barossa Village Residents’ Market here each month and it’s also home to BBBfm who operate from a purpose built radio studio in the building.”
Open Wednesday to Friday, 9.30am – 3.30pm.
