Gather Round the Barossa

Get ready for two landmark events to celebrate AFL Gather Round Festival of Footy!

For the first time, the Gather Round will venture to Barossa Park. The Barossa council in in-conjunction with the community will be celebrating all things footy, wine, food and culture over the weekend.

Join the celebration on Saturday, April 12, for a Barossa Food & Wine Village, a walkable village precinct with a street party vibe featuring restaurants, cafes and bars spilling into the street, themed zones, a footy zone, live entertainment and family-friendly activations.

On Sunday, April 13, there will be a Picnic in the Park at Tanunda Recreation Park. Enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly day with a laid-back atmosphere, featuring footy action live from Barossa Park, live music and delicious food and drinks from Barossa producers, makers, and artisans.

Orchard Tour & Taste

Gully Gardens Barossa

Join the team at Gully Gardens Barossa for an orchard tour and taste experience among an orchard that’s 120-years old.

Nestled in the rolling hills just outside Angaston, stroll through the historic orchard, learning all about the traditional methods of drying fruit and sample the produce along the way, before exploring all of the fantastic options in the farm shop.

A perfect addition to your Gather Round or Barossa Vintage Festival Itinerary – savour the taste of the Barossa’s rich horticultural heritage at Gully Gardens.

Grapestomp

Various times and locations

Another one of the longstanding yet ever-popular Vintage Festival events, Grapestomp will be happening this year, hitting the road across the valley. 

Grapestomping will be positioned at locations including; Tanunda, Lyndoch and Angaston thanks to the help of Festival partners.

Get ready to get your feet dirty.

Ziegenmarkt

Goat Square, Tanunda, 8am

Much loved by locals and marvelled at by visitors, step back in time to when Goat Square was an energetic market where locals exchanged their goods.

Brimming with history, this glimpse into the Barossa of yesteryear is complete with traditional food, produce and wine on offer for an entertaining and lively Thursday morning.

Ensure to bring your cash for the Ziegenmarkt auction, relish in the lively activity of this much-loved Vintage Festival staple.

April 26

The After Parade Party

Tanunda Recreation Park & Show Hall, From 4.30pm

Keep riding on the high vibes from the Barossa Vintage Festival Parade with a series of joyful events continuing into Saturday evening.

Kicking off at 4.30pm is The Big Sing, a fun community sing-along where everyone can join in and feel absolutely elated – get ready to belt out some great tunes with your friends. 

No singing experience is required, and all ages and vocal abilities are welcome to join in for some free fun with melodic crooning to raise the Barossa’s spirits high.

Then, at 7.30pm, keep the good vibes going at Club Vintage; a retro club-style party for the ages at Tanunda Show Hall.

While The Big Sing showcases the Barossa’s vocal talents, get ready to bust out your best moves to tunes from throughout the decades.

With dancing, cocktails, entertainment
and some special guests, finish off a day of hallmark Vintage Festival Events at this ticketed party for the ages.

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Tanunda Oval, 1.30pm

Enjoy family friendly fun alongside your most cuddly and precious stuffed-animal friends courtesy of Tanunda Town Band.

Fun and games await, as well as a range of tunes ranging from Bluey to Swifty, making this a pleasant way to spend an afternoon for the little ones.

The Band says to only bring the ‘bear’ necessities: a picnic rug and your favourite Teddy Bear.

Although the Barossa Vintage Festival may be coming to a close, what better way to finish a fantastic event than with the classic picnic fare.

Join the Southern Barossa Alliance Inc. at the scenic Lyndoch Village green for a community event celebrating nostalgia and togetherness, with classic games, vintage fashions, friendly competitions and live music.

A perfect outing to connect with friends and family and bask in the glow of the week that was.

‘A Land of Limestone and Laborers’ Tales from Eudunda’s Past

Eudunda Centenary Gardens, 10am to 12pm

In a town steeped in rich history, accompany award-winning historian, author (and local) Samuel Doering on a tour through the streets of Eudunda.

Meet the storekeepers, publicans, blacksmiths and fruiterers who have built their livelihoods in the town over the years; uncovering the town’s past through fresh insights from new, in-depth research.

Follow in the footsteps of those who came before and discover how their resilience and industry shaped Eudunda as it is known today.

Courtyard Cabernet & Jazz

St Hugo, 12PM -3pm

St Hugo is making Cabernet cool again, and what better way to enjoy a glass of award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon than on an autumn afternoon accompanied by live jazz and gourmet cuisine? 

Held in the stunning historic courtyard at St Hugo’s Rowland Flat estate, this Tasting Australia Event will showcase seasonal kitchen garden produce in small dishes from executive chef, Simon Hicks.

Winemaker Peter Munro will host the pop-up bar and share his love for the hero red varietal, with ticket-holders enjoying exclusive access to St Hugo’s rare and fine museum of Cabernet Sauvignon alongside contemporary vintages.
