As darkness falls, the torches are lit and the stirring sound of bagpipes echo through the main street of Tanunda, as a massed group of pipe bands, highland dancers and strong men and women prepare to march from the corner of Jane Place, Tanunda up the main thoroughfare to where Murray St meets Basedow Road.
Now in its third year, this dramatic event is a celebration of winter warmth and talent in the heart of the Barossa.
This event is free and family-friendly.

Winter, Wine & Whiskey
YALUMBA | 40 EDEN VALLEY ROAD, ANGASTON
Following the successful 2024 Smith’s Whisky Weekend, Yalumba is again planning to release Smith’s Angaston Whisky, with visitors invited to join in for a celebration of wine and whisky.
The old Pot Still and Distillery will be open, with Head of Winemaking and Distiller and Senior Red Winemaker sharing their knowledge and insight.
The Yalumba Cooperage will be open with fires burning, as guests have the chance to watch wine barrels being charred for whisky.
Acoustic music on the Terrace will be accompanied by delicious offerings by local chef, Howard’s Fire.
