Having tied the knot in December, it’s been two months of honeymoon bliss for newlyweds, Shaun Hausler and Asher Rohde.

Asher, of Nuriootpa, and Shaun, of Greenock, were joined in matrimony on December 12 at Sunnybrae Estate, and were married by celebrant, Kimberly Allmond.

This July marks 12 years since the couple started dating, after sparking their romance in 2008 on MSN.

Despite the lead-up to the wedding being stressful due to COVID restrictions, the day unfolded beautifully.

With the wedding capped at 100 guests, there was plenty of cake to go around.

Created by the bride’s mum, Valda, the two-tiered, double layered sticky date cake and the traditional caramel mudcake were a crowd pleasers.

Fleur Social helped bring their wedding vision to life. With a palette of whites and greens, the original idea of a modern wedding turned into a stunning rustic celebration.

The bride wore a Made With Love Carla dress which had three dimensional flowers sewn on, and the groom sported a navy suit with no tie and button hole from Fleur Social.

Capturing the beautiful couple and their special day was photographer, Mike Hemus, and videographer, Love and Other.

Hair and make-up were done by Krystal Hili and Sarah Stollznow, of Texture & Hue and providing quality entertainment was DJ Ben Events.

Despite COVID restrictions “throwing a spanner” in their honeymoon plans to travel Europe, the couple are taking this opportunity to explore more of our great nation.

They plan to spend a couple of weeks driving to Darwin and back in July and visiting as many waterfalls as they can.

Their attendants were Carly Hausler, Balin Powardy, Rianna Bowley, Samara Zerner, Kaleb Rohde, Josh Hornbuckle, Lachlan Graetz and Daniel Luciano.

Asher is the daughter of Valda and Stephen Rohde, and Shaun is the son of Janette and Tony Hausler.

Cake

The cake was created by Mum (Valda). It was a two tier, double layered cake. One flavour was sticky date and the other was caramel mudcake. Mum used to make wedding cakes when I was growing up, so it was a must for her to be able to make the cake for our wedding.
