Brianna & Rick's Wedding

Brianna Falland and Rick Szabo chose the bright, warm hues of Barossa sunsets as the inspiration for their wedding design, perfectly complemented by the historic stone buildings and lush lawns at Saltram Wines.

Brianna, the daughter of Jackie and Tim and Rick, the son of Joanne and Frank, enjoyed a wedding celebration with 100 of their family and friends in autumn.

Large bright bunches of flowers such as dahlias were balanced with soft pink roses for decoration, while the blooms for the bride and her four attendants: Laura Falland, Alex Viney, Kaitlyn Viergever, Tayla Helbig were also in bouquets of single colours.

The bride wore the Mimosa gown by Alena Leena, which had a corseted bodice and soft butterfly capped sleeves, while the groom wore a suit by Joseph Uzumcu. His attendants: Jake Szabo, Aaron Owens, Austin Hill, Nick Neale, were also dressed in sophisticated black and white.

The couple had been together for nine years, having met at university, with the proposal in the Adelaide Hills towards the end of 2023.

“Rick took me away to a tiny home in Hahndorf for my birthday in November 2023,” Brianna said. “He took me out for lunch – while we were out his brother came and decorated the room with flowers, champagne and the ring. When we got back Rick proposed.”

The couple nominate, “the ceremony and the dancing,” as their favourite moments on their wedding day, with the nuptials followed by a month-long honeymoon in Europe.
