With an initial brief of ‘timeless and romantic’ for the styling of their wedding, Chelsea and John’s choice of St Hugo winery at Rowland Flat proved ideal for both the ceremony and reception for their winter nuptials.
A number of guests had travelled from interstate for the celebrations, so a brunch the following morning at Tanunda’s Vino Lokal extended the newlyweds’ time with their family and friends.
The elegant bride wore a custom Caleche corset dress in double crepe with satin belt, pearl button detailing and a removable organza jacket, teamed with Manolo Blahnik Hangisi embellished satin pumps, while the groom donned an Oscar Hunt classic black velvet tuxedo with black satin bow tie. His white shirt was made to measure and featured black studded detail and personalised embroidery.
Continuing the bespoke design, Chelsea’s engagement ring and the wedding rings were custom made by Andrew Mazzone Design Jewellers.
Chelsea is the daughter of Christopher and the late Jennifer Parbs of Keyneton and John is the son of Rosemary and Robert Schaefer of Tanunda, so the Barossa was always going to be the ideal wedding locale for the couple.
Event styling by Emily Rende of Memory Lane elevated the day’s inspiration to create a “real romantic heart warmer…served with a side of an amazing view, wine and food” – all things the Barossa is renowned for.
Chelsea chose her niece Harriet as her flower girl, and both Chelsea and John nominate seeing each other at either end of the aisle as their favourite moment of the day.
Immediately after the wedding the couple jetted off for a quick getaway to Hamilton Island, with a longer trip scheduled for the following month.
“Later in August we travelled to Greece, exploring Athens followed by (a) self-drive holiday around the Peloponnese region and the islands of Santorini and Paros,” Chelsea said.
