Laura & Dylan's Wedding

When Laura Anderson and Dylan Weaver exchanged vows in March, their nuptials fell on the “hottest Autumn day in 25 years – 40 degrees in Freeling, with extreme winds.”

With good grace and humour, the couple recounts the challenges of taking photos and videos with the bride’s veil falling out due to the wind, not to mention the fact it became stuck on a brick wall before walking down the aisle, saying, “it made the day even more memorable.”

Thankfully, Laura and Dylan were keen to hold a casual event, and were pleased the flexibility of The Barns of Freeling venue allowed their cocktail-themed wedding to move from outside to indoors.

The fact their accommodation was also in the luxury silos on site also proved a bonus.

Laura, the daughter of Leah Anderson of Blakeview and Dylan, the son of Wayne and Ondre Weaver of Birkenhead, shared their day with 80 guests.

The bride chose her sisters Jessica and Emma as her attendants and they were resplendent in teal, while Laura’s dress was ‘Orrie by Enzoani’ from Jenny and Gerry’s, a fitted white lace dress with extra detail on the back and sides and removable sleeves.

The groom wore a classic black and white suit with bow tie and Dylan chose his father Wayne to be the best man, with the groomsman his best friend from school, Stefan Cochrane.

The couple said of their big day, “We loved everything about the day but the dance floor at the end was a highlight, being able to finally relax and have a few drinks with all of our loved ones.”

Laura and Dylan enjoyed their honeymoon at another warm location – Palm Cove in Queensland.
