As soon as you step foot into the space, you are met with the beautiful aromas of Vasse Virgin and The Naked Soap Company products including handmade soaps, and naturally fragranced lotions. The scent of real leather transports you to an era of quality and craftsmanship. From Carol Dadd’s hands to yours, her beautiful Sunshine Barossa leather purses and wine bottle bags are wonderfully soft to touch.
The Food Pantry also celebrates our rich food heritage. When it comes to food, the Barossa knows how to grow, harvest, cook and share with generosity. The Pantry is a providore unique to the Barossa, featuring carefully-selected products that are perfect for a picnic, celebration or as a meaningful gift for family and friends. From delightful Barossa Valley Cheese Company cheeses, Maggie Beer’s iconic pates and pastes to Ability Chocolate’s amazing sweet treats, the range is bound to appeal to your palette and your heart.
Barossa Made Wares & Food Pantry is also sustainable. Because the products are sourced, made and sold locally, the sustainability footprint is light. The store also features many eco-conscious makers such as Ecopatch who create gorgeous beeswax wraps and Winestains who upcycle old wine barrels into platters and other products. And who could forget the stunning and exclusive range of ‘Barossa Gems’, Sue Garrard’s intricate earrings made from wine bottles.
Like so much in the Barossa, Barossa Made Wares & Food Pantry is generational, both in its setting and in its offerings. Its location in what was once a general store in the 1880s pays homage to where the community has come from. The products give another generation of artists and artisans an opportunity to shape the next chapter in Barossa’s history.
Located in the Barossa Visitor Centre, Barossa Made Wares & Food Pantry is open 7 days a week 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm Saturdays, 10am-4pm Sundays and public holidays.
