food and wine festival entices people to discover
'A Little More Barossa'
Barossa excites with a new packed calendar of events for August

The Barossa has just released a jam-packed events calendar with over 70 curated food and wine events.
The announcement and release of A Little More Barossa programme comes off the back of a highly successful Barossa Vintage Festival back in April this year.
A Little More Barossa is designed to celebrate and showcase Barossa’s wine and food, the people and their stories with enticing events offering new taste, flavours and experiences.
There’s celebrations , secret locations, long lunches and degustations too, along with indulgent wine, chocolate, cheese and fortified tastings, not to mention beer and cocktails too.
The events are diverse and accessible and offer a front row seat and behind the scenes access to some of the Barossa’s leading food and wine icons.

With event names like The Whole Chook and Nothing but the Chook, Three Little Pigs, Le Resistencia, In-spor-ation Ex-spore-ation, This is Our Eden, Pruner’s Lunch, Winter Feast and Signature Supper Club leading the programme, you can expect new twists and narratives in Barossa’s food and wine stories.
Curated by Tourism Barossa, and supported by South Australian Tourism Commission, the program of events will act as a catalyst to drive visitation throughout August and encourage people to stay and explore the region a little further.
The new festival format replaces Barossa Gourmet Weekend which was last held in 2019 and supports a new desire to entice people to the region to explore a little further.
Jess Greatwich, Tourism Barossa’s Regional Tourism Manager said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be inviting people to discover A Little More Barossa throughout August.
“This month-long celebration follows a hugely successful Barossa Vintage Festival in April and cements the Barossa’s reputation for hosting immersive and unexpected events.
“It’s an incredible showcase of what makes the Barossa so special.
“A Little More Barossa offers the perfect chance to escape the city, stay the weekend and experience the best of the Barossa on a plate or in a glass.”
A Little More Barossa also celebrates a connection to community with incredible collaborations and heart-warming initiatives like Give A Little More Barossa Community Soup Kitchen.
A concept brought to life by Sam Smith, of Fino, to raise money to support longer term sustainable solution for youth homelessness in the region. A rotating roster of chefs and front of house staff, including Sam Smith and Amy Dunleavy (Fino), Tim Bourke (The Eatery), Mark McNamara, Clare Falzon (Hentley Farm) and Kyle Johns (Appellation) will cook and serve soup each Tuesday in August from the Barossa Co-op (Nuriootpa) with proceeds from cup of soup sales helping Foundation Barossa’s ‘Homburg Homeless Prevention Fund’.
As part of the August festival, the Barossa Cellar, Australia’s only regional cellar, will play host to cooking workshops with some of the region’s renowned chefs including Mark McNamara, Jamie Wall, Kyle Johns and Ryan Edwards and an afternoon of wines from Barossa’s heartland.
