The 2024 Barossa Arts Festival program was unveiled Thursday evening at Saltram Wine Estate, Angaston.
The biennial festival, taking place from March 30 to April 30, sets the stage for a month-long celebration, with artist exhibitions, workshops, makers markets, music events and an extensive arts trail spanning from Mount Pleasant through the Barossa to Kapunda.
The festival is shaping up to be an extraordinary celebration of artistic expression and community engagement, showcasing the diverse talents of South Australian artists while fostering creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity in the arts.
Addressing attendees at the program launch on Thursday evening, The Barossa Council Mayor Bim Lange said Council is proud to be a major sponsor of the Barossa Arts Festival, helping deliver a unique arts event that supports regional artists, makers, musicians and performers.
“The Barossa’s rich arts, heritage and culture is a major drawcard for visitors, and we’re confident the Barossa Arts Festival will be another jewel in our major events crown,” Mayor Lange said.
Also speaking on the evening, Founder and Festival Director, Karen Nickels said, “I am absolutely delighted we have been able to expand on the inaugural 2022 edition of the festival with the support of The Barossa Council, community groups, and so many venues.”
“This year’s program has an impressive 43 art workshops, underscoring the festival’s commitment to public engagement.
“The range of diverse workshops covers various artist mediums and is suitable for all skill and age levels.”
The Barossa Arts Festival’s comprehensive program was carefully curated to the kaleidoscope of colours, sparking creativity and richness of culture within the region is celebrated and promoted.
“Our motto, ‘Colour, Creativity, Culture,’ encapsulates the spirit of the Barossa Arts Festival,” Karen said.
