A beautiful spring day with dappled afternoon sunlight perfectly offset the elegant simplicity of Hannah Sanders and Josh Koch’s wedding in October, when the farmer wed his partner of seven years at Moculta.
With a striking, classic black and white theme, both for the groomsmen and the bridesmaids, the wedding moved from the outdoor ceremony at Gum Flat Road to the illustrious grounds of Chateau Tanunda, with a guest list of 150 ideally suited to the expansive location.
Canapes were served alfresco, followed by a dinner catered by Vintage Chef Co, with the restrained decorations highlighting the elegance of the historic building.
“With the combination of venues being at the farm and then Chateau Tanunda, we kept our theme simple and elegant to let the venues speak for themselves,” Hannah explained. “Our bridal party wore black, flowers were a beautiful combination of whites and greens and we kept signage and table décor minimalist.”
The couple has been together seven years, after meeting through mutual friends. Hannah’s parents moved to the Barossa Valley from Kaniva in Victoria and Josh was a local.
On their special day, the couple was humbled to look upon the faces of their guests and realise the effort and distances they had all travelled to share their wedding day.
It was certainly an evening to remember.
“Another highlight was the dance floor,” Hannah shares, “We had a band that simply didn’t want to stop partying and the dance floor was filled with our nearest and dearest having the time of their lives all night.”
For the newly-married couple, the honeymoon is yet to come, with Hannah and Josh heading to New Zealand’s, South Island in January.
